Class response blog #2

in class we did an experiment about resivoirs. Everyone got a card telling them if they were a cloud, rain, and humans. Water was in containers labeled lakes river ocean aquafier ect. The Each person had a job. The spoons took water from only 1 container. The spoons simpolized as rain. The spoon would then go to its destination. In the experiment I was rain and I had to get water from the river to the aquafier. Along the way theres clouds that were small cups. The clouds can go around any person who was rain and steal there water. Once the cups were filled to a certain point the the clouds would go to the destinations they where assigned. Then theres the humans. The humans were the biggest cup. The humans could go to any person who was rain and any cloud and steal the water. Like the rain and clouds the humans have a destination as well. At some point in the experiment the teacher put blue food dye in some containers. This reprisented contamination from the humans. Concluding, the rain would get contaminated and then the clouds would and then then humans would and it would spread. The aquafier has rocks in it which would take up most of the space. So people who would have to get water from the aquafier would have a tough time getting the water. The ocean didnt get infected as much as the others since the size of the ocean is to big it wouldnt get infected. Some containers would over flo. Some would decrease and would almost gone.

Class response blog #1

In class we made kites. Mine looks like the one above. There was no wind outside so it was hard to determine if my kite would fly or not. A kite is usually made out of cloth and maybe plastic. The plastic helps the kite be sturdy.

Since there was no wind i held my kite int he air and ran. I noticed the flaps or tips was bending back. If my kite had more strength/sturdyness on the tips, like in the picture above, my kite would fly.

Pirate Wind

The autumn wind's a pirate,
Blustering in from sea;
With a rollicking song, he sweeps along,
Swaggering boist'rously.

His skin is weather-beaten;
He wears a yellow sash,
With a handkerchief red about his head.
And a bristling black mustache.

He laughs as he storms the country,
A loud laugh and a bold;
And the trees all quake and shiver and shake,
As he robs them of their gold.

The autumn wind's a pirate,
Pillaging just for fun;
He'll snatch your hat as quick as that,
And laugh to see you run!

Mary Jane Carr

"The autumn wind's a pirate" Mary Jane uses a pirate to discribe the wind. The poem is basicly about weather so with out the use of weather its just talking about a pirate. The poem is a whole simily saying the wind is like a pirate. This poem told me that the wind is strong
